Alrighty, I know it has been quite a long time since I posted, but I have been super busy. I will get into it in another post, but for this post, I have to tell you about the Avon Open House I am hosting on 1.24.09 at my church. Avon Campaign 17

Well, this is my third campaign with Avon and I must say that this is a great campaign. Avon is introducing great skincare products by Anew and with great prices. I have noticed that Avon’s Anew skincare line is not only priced great, but it really does work. From their eye firming cream, to their stretch mark cream, to their line filler. It never fails, the results they promise are the results you actually get. Plus, with Avon’s no fuss return policy, how can you really loose!

Well, I did it, I became an Avon Rep and I really like it. It is so amazing how everything is working out. My first campaign, I had only two orders, but they totalled a nice amount. My second campaign, which just finished I had 6 orders, and five were new customers. I thought that was really great! I think if I just continue what I am doing my business will grow, slowly, but better than nothing right!

Talk about easy enough both mentally and pocketbook wise. Pass out brochures, call people, and $10 for two campaigns worth of brochures! Really great way to start a business.

One Classroom Coming Up!

I am so excited that we are finally getting our basement finished! After being here for over a year, and using the basement for homeschooling, a play area for the kids, and exercising, we finally can get it finished. Mike was wanting to get some exercise equipment, and if you know him, he already has some. I told him, that we need to finish the basement because it is being used everyday, and since he has equipment anyway, we should do the basement first before anything else is purchased. Boy, he got on it right away! I thought it was so cute!

Talk about a long process. I guess I know how companies feel when they are in the hiring process. People coming in and out, checking your dimensions, and giving you a quote, then having to so sorry, no thanks. I am just not that kind of person. We finally did find someone who could fit into our budget, he started last week, and we are getting so close. Hopefully in two weeks, we will be completely done! Yippee!

Everything seems to be going pretty smoothly, although we had a hard time with the loan. We were approved, no problem, however there was some snagg that held everything up. It is all good now, but I must tell you that extra stress is just not needed.

Kidney Infection only!

Well, Ashley is finally home from the hospital and the doctor’s have determined that she doesn’t have diabeties, but she does have a kidney infection. Praise God. She is continuing on antibiotics for the next 8 days and hopefully we will not have to do this again. Thanks again for your prayers.

Some Light in Darkness

Well, you are probably keeping up with my journal blog about Ashley. If you haven’t read her update, please stop and read that before you continue.

This isn’t an update on Ashley, however as I was reading my Bible this morning, I asked God to allow me to be encouraged, to give me just one verse to strengthen me for the long day ahead. Well, the Lord is good, and his mercy really does endure!

Psalm 56:4, “In God I will praise his word, in God have I put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”

You notice how the verse says ‘flesh’ instead of ‘man’! That was just awesome and amazing! I have always heard similar verses that explain ‘I will not fear what ‘man’ can do unto me’, but this was the nail on the head.

God was saying, just stop Jessica and trust in me, don’t worry if she has a disease, I am still hear and will always be here.

Well, to God my response is, Thank you Lord, for always reminding me that you are listening, helping, and holding me just when I need you. You have always proven your love, grace, and mercy when I know I don’t deserve it. Thank you for watching over my little one and wrapping her in your loving arms. I pray you be her strength through her life and guide her where you will.

A waiting the diagnosis of Diabeties

Well, I must say that for the past 24 hours, my life has been extremely caotic. At 10 am on 7/8, my daughter complained that her left side hurt and she had a high fever of 103.4. I made an appointment with the Doctor and showed up at 1:30 (to fill out 15 minutes worth of paper work. yuk!) After waiting for nearly 45 minutes, I noticed Ashley’s fever rising higher. She started to get the shakes and was considerabley uncomfortable. Once behind the doctor’s doors, her temperature was taken to revel 104.9! Immediately we were rushed next door to the ER where we continued to wait for 45 minutes. Once we were given a room, Ashley was given a cathader (which showed she was dry), and an IV, neither of which she liked. After about an hour, she was able to give an urine specimine which showed extremely high levels of glucose spillage and her blood work showed glucose levels at 200, which should only be at 100 max. After more hours of waiting, the Doctor finally came in and said that due the severe infection of the bladder and an extremely high level of glucose, she would be admitted for at least 48 hrs.

Once we were situated in her room, the nurse checked her glucose again and it was 253! A call to the doctor was made. When her next round of tests were done at 5:30 a.m., glucose tested at 112 which was much better, however after breakfast and a fever of 102.5 it raised to 197. Her fever continued to rise while the doctor removed her from the fluids. After her temperature reached 104.3, the doctor decided to add tylenol to her motrin dose and put her back onto the fluids. Her next glucose tested at 167 and the doctor then decided to order a hemaglobin to check her glucose from the past three months. This test will show her glucose and if it has been stable or unstable. If unstable for the entire time, she will then be diagnosed with type one diabeties, if stable upto the infection, then it will be caused because of the infection.

Now it is 9 p.m. and Ashley is getting ready for bed, waiting for one more temperature check, and will see what happens tomorrow after the test. I am so nervous, but I know that God will give us the strength to get through anything, but I think of her and what she will have to deal with. I guess the only main concern is that her identical twin could have diabeties as well.

Beauticians in the Making!

Well, I guess every child at some point wants to become one, right! But do they have to start before they have gone to beautician school?

My girls, only 3 years old, decided to get a pair of scissors and cut each other’s hair. Emma, considering what she was doing, did a pretty good job on Ashley, however I can’t say the same for Ashley. She completely butchered Emma’s hair.

After I trimmed it up and made sure it looked, well, at least not so choppy, Emma looked liked Julie Andrews (in Sound of Music) and Ashley looks like she did before, just with shorter hair.

Yes, I scolded them and told them if they ever so muched as looked at another pair of scissors again, I would cut off all their hair! They didn’t like that. Daddy said they looked like boys and they didn’t like that either. So, well, I guess they won’t do it anymore, but no one can say for sure.

Another July 4th has come and gone, and I think to myself if this will be the year that America will come on her knees before God? I pray that it will be, but of course there is always doubt that we will not and continue in our sin-filled lives. He is a wonderful Savior and I am so very thankful that He has given us yet more time to love Him, serve Him, and bring people to Him. I pray that I will do my part to be who He wants me to be.
